Micro-hair implant surgery is an ambulatory surgery. We obtain the donor area from the head's back, where a suture will be made and later removed 7 to 10 days after the procedure.
We use local anesthesia; therefore, the patient is an active spectator of the surgery. The procedure lasts between 8 and 12 continuous hours, depending on the number of implants. Surgery and post-operative care are guaranteed to be painless. On the day after surgery, there is a 20% probability of needing an analgesic. That is, 2 out of 10 patients need it. You will be able to return to your daily life in the first 24 to 48 hours. The patient can resume full physical activity between 3 and 4 weeks.
The implants will be seen as small lesions that will evolve according to each individual's healing form. Our institute always warns that this process is personal. The transplanted hair will begin to grow from the third to the sixth month. Once the micro-implant starts to grow, it will remain in the transplanted area for life.
Cases of infection after surgery are rare, especially if the patient follows with care the post-operative instructions. If an infection occurs, it can be treated with common antibiotics prescribed by us or by any doctor.
